Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur
Artist's Website: Jim Kweskin / Geoof Muldaur
Jim Kweskin created one of the bedrock guitar styles of the folk revival, adapting the ragtime-blues fingerpicking of artists like Blind Boy Fuller to the more complex chords of pop and jazz. Kweskin explores traditional folk and blues with the sophisticated sensibility of a jazz musician and jazz with the communal simplicity of a folk artist. Geoff Muldaur is one of the great voices and musical forces to emerge from the folk, blues and folk-rock during the 1960's and '70's. Though known as a musician’s musician, it is his voice—reedy, quavering, otherworldly-- that most identifies him. Says guitarist Richard Thompson, “There are only three white blues singers, and Geoff Muldaur is at least two of them." Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur combine their expertise as a duo, reviving and expanding on their Jug Band days.
